The Classic series uses a 1-inch snap-lock seam with a proprietary clip that Jerith redesigned around 2014; the newer clip has a slightly wider base plate and won’t seat properly on pre-2014 panels. The Regal and Imperial lines share a 1.5-inch mechanical lock, but the Regal uses a lighter-gauge aluminum (0.032 inch) while the Imperial steps up to 0.040 inch. That difference matters for replacement panels: a Regal panel cut to fit an Imperial run will oil-can in the heat.

To identify your series, check the inside face of a panel near the ridge line for an embossed lot number. The first two digits indicate the year; the letter code that follows (C, R, or I) tells us the series. If the embossing has worn off, which happens faster in Fort Lauderdale’s salt air than inland Florida, we measure the seam height and gauge with a micrometer on site.
