Meet the Fort Lauderdale Team Behind Rowan Construction Group Fort Lauderdale
Every crew that rolls out of our Fort Lauderdale shop answers to the same standard, not the same script. These are the people who show up background-checked, in uniform, with a tablet full of photos from your last visit and a written scope for the next one. What unites them isn’t a handbook. It’s the discipline of documenting what they find, pricing it before they start, and leaving a record behind. In Fort Lauderdale, this is who does the work.
Our People
Grant Rowan, Owner
I started Rowan Construction Group in 2007 after watching too many jobs in Fort Lauderdale blow past their estimates because nobody bothered to write down what “repair the bathroom” actually meant. Seventeen years and 4,000-plus projects later, I still review every written quote before it goes out. Under Clause 1 of the Haven Standard, the price is written before anyone starts. That’s non-negotiable. I hold a Florida contractor’s license and spend most mornings between the Fort Lauderdale office and active job sites, usually with coffee that’s gone cold because I stopped to check a roof deck or a cabinet alignment. The dry observation I make most often: the jobs that finish on budget are the ones where someone took ten extra minutes to photograph the water damage before quoting the repair.
Marcus T., Lead Technician - Roofing & Exterior Systems
Marcus has been with us six years, which in Fort Lauderdale roofing means he’s seen what salt air and hurricane season do to shingles, tiles, and flat membranes. He’s GAF Master Elite certified and Owens Corning Preferred Contractor qualified, and he’s the one we send when a customer needs a second opinion on a competitor’s estimate because he will literally count the shingle layers and photograph the soffit rot rather than guess. His specialty is explaining why a 15-year-old roof in Coral Ridge fails differently than one in Victoria Park - the tree canopy, the ventilation, the original install date. Off the clock, he restores vintage motorcycles and applies the same tolerance for zero slop. Customers get his cell number. He actually answers.
Elena R., Senior Installer - Kitchen & Bath
Elena came to us from a high-end custom shop in Miami and immediately pushed our Fort Lauderdale kitchen installs to a tighter standard. She’s certified in KraftMaid and Wellborn cabinet systems, but her real skill is substrate diagnosis - she’ll find the uneven floor or the out-of-square wall that would have thrown off every measurement downstream, and she photographs it before quoting the fix. She trained our apprentice crew on the difference between Cambria and Caesarstone seam behavior in humid installs, which matters when you’re working three blocks from the Intracoastal. Her human detail: she keeps a notebook of every job site’s “surprise,” which she reviews in our Monday meetings so the next crew doesn’t get surprised the same way. She’s been with Rowan four years.
Darnell K., Service Coordinator
Darnell is the live person who answers when you call (754) 254-7676 at 11 PM because your bathroom demo uncovered galvanized plumbing and you need to know if the change order can wait until morning. He’s been with Rowan three years, starting as a permit runner and learning every jurisdiction in Broward County the hard way - Fort Lauderdale’s building department closes at 4, Coral Springs wants digital plans uploaded separately, and Davie still requires a paper copy for ADU setbacks. He coordinates our documented photo records, making sure every customer gets their link within 24 hours of any visit. He knows every crew member’s specialty and current location without checking a board, which is how we keep seven trades scheduled without the “we’ll call you back” runaround. He fishes the New River on Sundays and applies the same patience to snook as he does to permit delays.
Sofia M., Apprentice - Windows, Doors & Finish Carpentry
Sofia is in her second year with Rowan Fort Lauderdale, rotating through trades before she picks her specialty. Right now she’s shadowing Elena on cabinet installs and Marcus on window flashings, learning why a Pella install in a 1960s Fort Lauderdale ranch requires different jamb prep than a new construction Andersen unit. She’s OSHA-10 certified and working toward her EPA lead-safe certification, which matters more than people think in our older neighborhoods. Her job is to ask the questions that experienced techs stopped asking years ago, which occasionally saves a crew from assuming a wall is plumb when it isn’t. She grew up in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea and still lives with her grandmother in the same house, which she mentions when customers ask if anyone local actually works here anymore.
One Standard, Every Job

The Haven Standard isn’t a poster in our Fort Lauderdale break room. It’s the administrative discipline that Haven acquired Rowan for in the first place. Every technician on this page operates under the same clauses: written price before work starts, signed change order before any deviation, documented photo record on every visit, and the 365-Day Done Right Promise printed on every agreement. When Marcus quotes a roof in Rio Vista or Elena scopes a kitchen in Wilton Manors, the quote format is identical, the warranty language is identical, and the customer gets the same flat-price protection. We don’t do “call for a quote” because Clause 1 leaves no room for it. The crew you meet on day one is the crew that finishes the job, and the photo record they leave behind is yours to keep. That’s the standard. These are the people who hold it.
